Retro Review : WonderSwan -DICING KNIGHT- Now in Stock!!!

Dicing Knight Period is an RPG game for the Bandai WonderSwan Color. It is also a roguelike, as the dungeons can be randomly generated.
Dicing Knight Period was one of the last WonderSwan games to be released, in 2004, alongside Judgement Silversword, another winner in the WonderWitch development contest. Due to their limited production numbers, both games are scarce and demand a high price on the collector’s market.
The game makes use of all of the Wonderswan’s buttons, with A and B allowing the player to use the sword and shield weapons at all times. In addition, the players can assign items to their inventory using the Y buttons, in the tradition of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. There was also another version released called Dicing Knight Legion, only for the WonderWitch development system.

Currently we have this Game in stock.Complete with Box,manual and Cartridge in excellent condition. The price excluding shipping cost is Euro 150,-

The game was developed by Manfred Trenz, creator of the Turrican series. This game was only released in Japan, but almost everything is in English. According to an interview with Trenz, he stated that the game was originally named as Targa and it featured hand drawn graphics, and later it was changed to pre-rendered graphics following the success of Donkey Kong Country, hence the name change. By the time the game was finally finished, the only company interested in publishing it was the Japanese branch of Virgin Interactive.

The game is extremely rare as only 10,000 cartridges were produced. Collectors can expect to pay well over 500 dollars for a copy.

Considered to be both a milestone in shooter design and one of the toughest games in the genre, Radiant Silvergun comes courtesy of Japanese developer Treasure. Released only in Japan, Radiant Silvergun offered two modes, Arcade and Saturn mode. The former is all about intense 2D shooting action, while Saturn Mode adds a storyline to the mix and features anime-style characters and voice overs. Radiant Silvergun’s most interesting feature is that it did away with the power-up system so prevalent in 2D shooters and instead offered a choice of attacks — and combos between them. From standard lasers, to split shots, tracking fire, homing blasts, rear attacks, lock-on laser, and the Radiant Sword that can act both as shield and smart bomb, players have to choose the right attack for the right enemy to make it through.

With such amateurish cover art and bearing the logo of some unknown company called Soft Vision, you’d be excused for passing up on this hori memorizer in a secondhand game shop. Don’t. Just don’t. It’s cream of the crop MD shooting, with some of the most frantic action outside of the Thunder Force series. It just keeps throwing increasingly bigger and scarier alien hardware at you non-stop, while cranking the speed up and filling the air with awesome tunes. Not to mention it’s very pretty and gets harder by the third stage than most other MD shooters ever get.
